[ACDP-Announce] 2008 JJ Dinner

This year, the Annual JJ Dinner in Richmond that is hosted by the Virginia Democratic Party is going to really be something!   It is scheduled for February 9,  which is the Saturday just before the Virginia Presidential Primary.  The hope (and I might add expectation) is that the candidates will all be there, and what a "key note" speaker that will be!    In anticipation of a huge turnout, the 5th CD has reserved six tables (60 places), which of course, Albemarle County folks will make up a respectable group.   There are only 2,500 dinner tickets so they are going to "go" very quickly.

The particulars are this.   The dinner will be held at the Seigal Alltel Arena in Richmond.  It is very close to downtown, so if you wanted to make a weekend of it, you could do it without having to go all over the place.  The times of the event may change a bit, but the dinner participants will be admitted to the floor and dinner served beginning about 6.  The speakers will begin at around 7:45.  The whole event should conclude by 9:30, at the latest.   The cost is $175 per person.  

If you would like to "reserve" a place or places, please let me know as soon as possible.  By the first of the year, I need  you to have paid for your placement.  Please make out your check payable to the "VADP", and send it to the Albemarle County Democratic Party, P.O. Box 586, Charlottesville, VA 2902.  I will submit them all at the same time to the state party to complete the transaction.  That way, you will be seated with anyone you would like, and with the group from Albemarle as best as I can promise.  Please let me know soon, as I certainly want all to go that would like to go. 

The dinner placement is going to be the best place to be, undoubtedly.  But some may not want to spend that much, so other seating (in the arena in the stadium part) will be available at a lesser price.  The plan is at this point for admission to those seats to occur just before the speaking begins.   Also, the seats will not be reserved, as I understand it.  So I cannot guarantee a good seat, but I can fill you in on the details when they become available, if you would like.  Any other questions, please just ask.
