BBQ Update. . . . I just got confirmation that Terry McAuliffe, former Democratic National Committee Chair, frequent TV guest, campaign manager for Hillary Clinton's recent effort, and tireless political professional on the national scene will be attending the Albemarle County Democratic Committee BBQ on Sunday, September 21 at Ash Lawn - Highland. This is a very exciting addition to our speaker group, and I am sure that you will enjoy every minute of his time on the program. He and Dick Cranwell are two of the best speakers in the Virginia Democratic array and you really don't want to miss it. The BBQ will be starting at 3 PM, and you want to be there at the beginning to not miss a thing. I know the speakers will all be there early so that they can meet the great Democrats of Albemarle County, so come on out! It will be a great afternoon, and I know you will enjoy the speakers, the BBQ and an exciting time with friends.
The following is a reminder about the whole weekend. This is a great campaign season with lots of activity and this weekend is a fine example. I look forward to seeing you at some point during the weekend. Get you BBQ tickets quickly at the Coordinated Campaign office at 1310 Rio Road East. They will not be sold there after Saturday at 6.

************************************************
Last weekend, we had 92 people on the street performing the important task of identifying voters. I can't tell you the huge effect this has on the election. It is the kind of participation that can deliver the results that we need on election day. I also learned that the same type of effort is happening all over the 5th Congressional District and that makes success possible in our Congressional District also. It is an exciting time, and the participation this year is terrific. There are only 7 weeks until the election so getting out and doing what you can to help is important, but you also need to do it now. Please come out. I am sure you will enjoy the experience.
And then. . . on Sunday let's have some fun at the 20th Annual BBQ. The party is doing it's annual fundraiser at Ash Lawn-Highland, and it starts at 3. I really hope to see everyone come out and enjoy the late afternoon with good Democrats, the BBQ and a good line-up of speakers that will certainly set the tempo for the remaining part of the campaign. Complete information is on the website (www.albemarledems.org). Get your ticket early and save a bit of money! But most importantly, join us on Saturday and Sunday. Make it a "home run" Democratic Weekend!
