1. Landscaping Help Needed for Baker-Butler

We will be meeting this Monday from 5 to 7 pm in front of Baker-Butler to
weed and clean-up the garden beds. We would like to have the school look
nice in preparation of school opening in a week. Bring your gloves, rakes
and family members and help us out! Please contact Michelle Sandow at
msandow at earthlink.net if you think you can make it or if you are available
at another time.

We are also trying to organize groups (Girl Scout, Cub Scout, etc),
families, and neighborhoods who would be willing to spend a few hours
weeding and performing light clean-up of the garden beds in the front of the
school over the course of the school year. The beds need an hour or two of
work a couple times a month to look good. If we can get a few groups willing
to volunteer for this project, each group would need to help out only once
every month or two.

2. Time to Re-Link Your Grocery Cards

This is an easy and painless way to contribute to your child¹s school. All
you need to do is link your grocery cards and the Baker-Butler PTO will
receive funds from these stores which are used to enhance your child¹s
experience at Baker-Butler. Remember, you can ask your family members and
friends to link their cards also, even if they don¹t live near-by. All they
need to do is link their cards to our school IDs. Even if you linked your
cards last year, you need to re-link your cards again this year.

Harris Teeter ­ 
For the Harris Teeter VIC card you can go to Harris Teeter and have them
link your VIC card to Baker-Butler (School ID: 5455) or send me an email
(tompajewski at earthlink.net) with your last name and the first 11 digits off
of your VIC card and we can link you up.

Giant - 
Take your Giant A+ Bonus Bucks card to Giant and ask them to link it to
Baker-Butler (School ID: 04381) or go to their website and link your card.

Take your Kroger Plus Card and have it linked to Baker-Butler (School ID:
80897)

Food Lion -
Take your Food Lion MVP card to Food Lion and have it linked to Baker-Butler
or use their URL http://foodlion.com/IntheCommunity/ShopAndShare/
We¹re setting Food Lion¹s link up and it should be active in the next day or
so.


3. Innisbrook Fundraiser

The major fundraiser for Baker-Butler is the Innisbrook Fundraiser. Watch
your child¹s backpack for information that will describe this in detail.


4. Helping Hands Volunteers Needed For Our New  Kindergarten Students

These volunteers assist kindergarten teachers get their students to their
classrooms from the bus for the first few weeks of school.
Please contact Karen Strayer (kdstrayer at adelphia.net) with your preferred
time/dates. We need two parents for each bus.
Dates: Monday, August 21st to August  30th
Morning (7:40 to 8:00) and Afternoon (2:10 to 2:20)  kdstrayer at adelphia.net


5. Cub Scouts Pack 111 Cream Social / Pool Party

Cub Scouts Pack 111 is organizing an ice cream social / pool party at FLST
on the last Saturday in August. (Aug. 26) from 4 pm with games and other fun
activities. Everyone at the pool is welcome to join the fun!
