Upcoming PTO Meeting / Meet Mr. David Cushman
Our next PTO meeting will take place on Monday May 14 starting at 6:30 pm in
the Media Center.
In addition to electing next year¹s PTO officers, we have an opportunity to
meet our new
principal, Mr. David Cushman. More information will be sent out during the
week. Please be sure to attend.


Community Forum on Diversity: Tuesday, May 8, 6:30-8:30pm at Albemarle High
School

Join us in improving our community through our Strategic Plan Goal for
"Preparing all students to succeed as members of a global community and in a
global society."

 At the May 8th Forum, participants will work toward engaging dialogue by:
*        Watching a skit created & produced by students
*        Viewing a CNN video on racism in America & discussing the topic
from the national & local perspectives
*        Having small group discussion
*        Hearing from our principals how their schools are becoming more
proactive with cultural diversity
*        As a community, talking about the steps for future forums

WHEN: Tuesday, May 8, 6:30-8:30pm

WHERE: Albemarle High School

PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS: AHS, Jouett Middle School, Greer Elementary School

CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED: by AHS Key Club.  Call 975-9300 to register for
Childcare


Teacher Appreciation Week Thank You!
A big thank you to Donna Hargett and Suzanne Matriccino for over seeing the
Teacher Luncheon during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Also a huge thanks to all that brought food.  Baker Butler volunteers are
the best!
