Volunteers Needed
Baker-Butler Elementary School needs your help! We need people who are
willing and able to work with our struggling students. Many students who
are at-risk academically and/or socially benefit greatly from extra time
with caring adults. Could that be you?
It is ideal if you can provide the gift of your time for 30-60 minutes twice
a week. However, once a week is gladly accepted, too.
Could you:
-Read one-on-one with students?
-Help a couple students review math?
-Guide a spelling group?
-The possibilities go on
Classroom teachers will organize their own volunteers, and support teachers
will help and train volunteers if needed. Therefore, if interested, please
contact a teacher you know directly, or contact Ang Blanchette, literacy
specialist (ablanchette at k12albemarle.org), to get connected with a teacher.
Thank you so much for considering our plea.
Sincerely,
Ang Blanchette
