2008-09 School Division Funding Request

Cultural Diversity Celebration
Please remember to join us at Sutherland on Tuesday, January 15 for our
first Cultural Diversity Celebration. The evening will feature musical and
dance performances and workshops, special displays, and food samples. You
can see an origami demonstration, participate in a drumming workshop, enjoy
step dancing, a jazz performance, and a judo performance. Best of all, you
can join other members of our community in celebrating the richness of the
many contributions to our overall community. The celebration is scheduled
for 6:00 8:30. Please come when you can for as long as you can.
Many thanks to the Baker-Butler, Hollymead, and Sutherland community
volunteers and the Albemarle County Public Schools Office of Community
Engagement!

If you have an interest or a question about school-related matters or the

College & Career Planning Night

and elementary school students, there are things you can do now to help your
child make better decisions and have more options regarding their future.
· Better understand financial aid and the Virginia 529 College Savings
Plan program.
· Learn about the wide variety of college and career planning services
provided through the Albemarle County school system and other career
planning resources.
· Learn how to help your child set goals and learn the skills to be a
valuable worker both in school and beyond.
These sessions will be lead by highly qualified individuals from the
Virginia 529 College Savings Plan, Albemarle County Schools, UVa, CATEC, and
PVCC.
