Are you trying to plan your summer vacation, winter break or even spring
break 2009? If so, then you need to take a look at the proposed calendar for
next year. The calendar is now available to view online along with
frequently asked questions about the calendar.  If you would like to provide
feedback please do so by Monday, January 28. Remember, it is easier and
better to offer your suggestions/complaints now before this is finalized
then to try to do something about it later. This may be your only chance.

Registration dates are as follows:
Tuesday, February 12, 2008, Albemarle County Building (Location of Albemarle
County Police Dept.) on 5th Street, Room C, 6 PM to 8 PM
Wednesday, February 13, 2008, Albemarle County Office Building (Old Lane HS)
on McIntire Rd., Room 235, 6 PM to 8 PM.

Cost -  $25.00 to $35.00 (Scholarships are available-Contact Mike Kane
434-973-5440 prior to registration)

Softball Skills Workout Sessions (Batting Practice):
Saturday, February 23, 2008, Total Performance Center, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Sunday, February 24, 2007, Total Performance Center, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

Tryouts currently scheduled for March 1st & March 2nd ,  2008 at Tonsler
Park, Charlottesville, VA.

Teams will be formed between March 9th & 15th, 2008 so don't delay your
registration. We have seen an overwhelming response to the email
preregistrations. No girls will be turned away but any delay with your
registration may cause you to be assigned to a team. We want you to be on
the teams in your area so register now or on the above dates. Those that
have preregistered will be contacted with further instructions.

Thank you players and parents for such a great response to our fastpitch
softball league. We look forward to meeting each of you as the season
approaches. 
Who will the School District Champions be at the close of the 2008
season????????? 
Parents don't forget our "Little Babes". If your child is 4 years old or you
know of someone with a 4 year old, please have them contact us. This will be
the most exciting division we have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




Boys Middle School Lacrosse League (BMSLL)
The Boys Middle School Lacrosse League (BMSLL) will kick off its 11th season
this spring. BMSLL is open to any boy in the 5th-8th grade.  There are two
divisions; 
Midgets: 5th & 6th grade
Juniors: 7th & 8th grade

Registration is now open and will end on March 3, 2008.  The website for

The registration fees for this year will be $80*.  All boys must be a member
of US Lacrosse to play in the middle school league.  If your son is already
a member of US Lacrosse, you will need to know your son¹s US Lacrosse number
and expiration date to register.  You can find this number on the US
Lacrosse website at

to renew your son¹s membership you can do this either on the US Lacrosse
website or through our on-line registration system.  The US Lacrosse youth
membership fee is $25.00 and covers 12 months.

Practice schedules and game schedules will be available on the BMSLL website
(www.bmslax.com <http://www.bmslax.com/> ) and will be announced by the
coaches as well.  Juniors should expect to practice two afternoons/evenings
a week and the Midgets will practice at least one afternoon/evening a week
it could be two.  Each team does have the option of scheduling one
additional practice if they can find the appropriate field space.  The
regular BMSLL season will begin the weekend of March 9th and run through May
23rd.  Games will be played on Sunday afternoons between 12pm-4pm.
Traditionally we have played at Darden Towe Park but we are also working on
getting other field space as well.
The teams in the league will have the opportunity to play in The Nolan
Jenkins Memorial Preseason LaxMania Tournament the weekend of March 16,
2008.  The games will be played at several locations around Charlottesville.
More information about the tournament will be provided by the coaches.
