FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What is an online petition or an e-petition?

Advocates no longer need to stand outside the Great Valu to gather
signatures from like-minded individuals. Instead, we can gather
"signatures" via the INTERNET. Instead of signing a piece of paper, you
provide your name online. Your email address determines the
individuality of your signature, and therefore, only one signature per
email address is permitted.

What is Gopetition.com?

It's an international petition hosting portal that provides free service
to PTO presidents and anyone else who wants to create an online
petition. It is non-partisan and has no political affiliations. Anyone
or any group can use Gopetition.com to have their voice heard.

What is the difference between an electronic and a paper petition?

In essence there is no difference between the two.

What about my privacy?

Concerns about data collection and privacy in regard to e-petitions are
important. At Gopetition.com personal details provided by signers are
not used to send unsolicited e-mail, and are not sold to any 3rd party.
They have the strictest privacy policy of any petition hosting site.
Petition authors (Brownsville PTO President Sally Cushing) must agree to
use e-signatures for legitimate purposes.
