The University of Virginia's
2007 Summer Enrichment Program for gifted or high ability/highly
motivated students in grades 4-5.
2007 Session Dates
Session 1: June 17th - June 28th
Session 2: July 1st - July 12th
Session 3: July 15th - July 26th
Students who are currently enrolled in grades 4-10 may apply to attend a
two-week session in our program where curriculum emphasis will be on
extending a student's capabilities in problem-solving, creativity and
critical examination, and evaluation of content-rich fields of study.
Areas that are new or of special interest to students will be
investigated through hands-on simulations, demonstrations, lectures,
discussion and/or individual or small group investigations. An in-depth
and broad study that often cannot be achieved in the regular classroom
is facilitated by a low teacher-pupil ratio and by the use of the
facilities of the University of Virginia and the historic
Charlottesville area. The fields of study for this summer include the
following four:
Investigations in the Science & Technology
Investigations in Social Sciences
Investigations in Mathematics
Investigations in the Arts & Humanities
