FOUR THINGS:

1.)	After yesterday's events, THIS FRIDAY Is "BEE PROUD DAY"! Wear
your B-ville colors (gold and green) or B-ville t-shirts! The PTO (as
well as many B-ville individuals) has shown our teachers and staff our
appreciation for their solid leadership yesterday. On Friday, let's
show EVERYONE how proud we are of them and our school!

2.) Did you show your support for the school budget by signing the
online petition?
So far, only 54 people have signed it! Tell your friends and
neighbors! This petition simply states support for School
Superintendent Dr. Pamela R. Moran's 2007-2008 school budget plan:
http://www.gopetition.com/online/11550.html

3.) B-ville T-shirts and Shorts Due Date has CHANGED to FRIDAY, APRIL
13!

within the first 10 minutes last year, so if students are interested it
may be wise to arrive early.)

Gear Up! – Beginning Lego Robotics
Learn the basics of robotics and computer programming in this fun,
hands-on engineering experience.  Using the Lego RCX system, students
will build robots from scratch.  They will write programs to bring
their robots to life.  They will design their own robots and use the
engineering process to solve a variety of challenges.  The course will
conclude with a Robot Expo, an opportunity for students to showcase
their robot creations before the public. Students need no prior robotic
or computer experience—the only requirement is a desire to learn more
about the fascinating world of robots!

Gear Up! – Advanced Lego Robotics
Take your knowledge of robotics to the next level.  In the Advanced
Robotics course, students already familiar with the Lego RCX system
will design and build complex robots that interact with the world
around them. Through a series of challenges, students will explore
advanced Robolab programming, robot design, and mechanical engineering
concepts.  This class will also conclude with a Robot Expo, giving
students a chance to show off what they have learned and built.
**Students must have knowledge of Robolab or RIS programming in order
to take this class.

Once Upon a Musical
Calling all future technical managers, painters, builders, singers,
actors, and dancers - a new performing arts program is here!   Join us
for our summer musical workshop and hone your skills in music, acting,
dancing, solo and ensemble singing, as well as set management and
design. Master back-stage tech skills such as working lights, sound
systems and building sets as we produce the 90 minute musical “Once
Upon A Mattress” for a live, public performance.

Summer Stock is an intensive, authentic performing workshop that puts
you on and behind stage.  After auditioning for roles and jobs,
students will benefit from private voice lessons, acting coaching,
music and drama lessons, instruction in choreography and stage
management.  The curtain on our performance of “Once Upon A Mattress”

Journey through Hallowed Ground I
Students are invited to move through history this summer as they hike,
bike, canoe, and pod along the Journey Through Hallowed Ground, the
Route 15 corridor in central Virginia boasting innumerable historical
treasures.  Their mission is to unlock the stories and lessons of our
nation’s history as they work with expert historians, archaeologists,
and national park guides.  Along the path, students will record the
trials and triumphs of leaders from the Revolutionary period through
the Civil War using video iPods and digital cameras to create an
original vodcast. These documentaries, which demand careful analysis of
historical information and creative expression, will then be used as an
authentic promotional tool by Journey Through Hallowed Ground
organization.   Specific sites and activities include biking along the
C&O Canal tow path and the Gettysburg battlefield, canoeing at Ball’s
Bluff, hiking Antietam, sleuthing at Montpelier and digging at Ash
Lawn.
