TAKE A CHAIR…
A PTO chair, that is! The following PTO committees need a chairperson  
(or co-chair) for the 2008-09 school year. It’s a great opportunity to  
get involved, meet new friends, and invest in our school! Write your  
name, contact info, and the committee(s) you’re interested in. Return  
to your child’s teacher and we’ll be in touch!  It is that simple.

Want to help but can’t commit to a specific event? We’ve got a role  
for you.

Fund Raiser Liaison: Build and maintain a donor database (using past  
donations and scouting prospective donors).


Love the outdoors and beautiful things? Get your gardening gloves out...
Grounds Beautification: Coordinate one fall and spring day for  
volunteers to gather at Brownsville to spread mulch, weed flowerbeds,  
plant flowers, and provide general yard work.


Are you bookworm? Share the love...
Book Fair: Co chair needed to help plan, organize, set up, cashier,  
and clean up during this festive annual theme-oriented event.

Used Book Sale: Organize book donations and set up during Literacy  
Night. Proceeds go towards PTO Book Fair gift certificates to  
guarantee that every Brownsville student is able to buy a new book at  
the Fall Book Fair.

Brownsville Publishing: Co chair needed. From home or at school, type  
and/or assemble books created by the children.


Is socializing your thing?
Welcome Back Picnic: Kick off the school year right! Coordinate a back  
to school potluck to be held the 1st or 2nd week of school on the  
Brownsville grounds.


Going once, going twice!
Silent Auction : With the help of a volunteer committee, solicit  
donations from local businesses, parents and teachers. Coordinate set  
up and clean up.



Is organization a strong skill?

Fun Fair: Organize this amazingly fun event for families to enjoy.  
Coordinate volunteers to sell tickets, run game booths, prize  
redemption, serve food & set up/clean up.

Sally Foster:  Organize the sale of fabulous wrapping paper, gifts and  
goodies!

Attractions:  Organize the sale of this money-saving coupon book of  
local businesses!
