School Board Changes Last Day of School
The School Board voted to change the last day of school to June 9.  This
will be a full school day.
Late Orders -- Spring Fundraiser
The PTO will accept orders this week if you forgot to turn them in last
week.  Please call Shelley Payne at 984-6862 or e-mail

Dance Volunteers
We need volunteers to chaperone the dance and games night this coming
Friday, May 6 from 6:30 – 9:00 P.M.  Please call Suzanne Breeden at 293-9318

Fish Fry & Carnival Fundraiser
Burley is home to many talented students and two teams of those talented
Burley students will soon be representing our school at the national and
international level!  The STEP Team will be attending the National STEP
Competition May 19-21 in Miami, FL and the Destination Imagination Team will
be attending the Destination Imagination Global Finals May 24-27 in
Knoxville, TN.  These competitions are a wonderful reward for the hard
effort that these students have put into their performances, but they are
not inexpensive.  Please help these teams raise money by attending the Fish
Fry & Carnival this Saturday, May 6.
The STEP Team has organized a wonderful Fish Fry & Carnival and has invited
the DI Team to hold a bake sale in conjunction with their event!

(Both morning and afternoon testing sessions will be administered)
Wednesday, May 17, 2006 – 6th grade Math SOL Test
(All except Ms. Igel’s 1st block students)
Thursday, May 18, 2006 – 8th grade Math SOL Test
(Ms. Igel’s 1st block students)
(6th and 7th grade students will take the test in an afternoon testing
session)
Monday, May 22, 2006 – 6th grade US History to 1877 SOL test
(Only students enrolled in 2nd semester social studies)
7th grade Testing Schedule
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 – 7th grade Reading SOL Test
(Both morning and afternoon testing sessions will be administered)
Thursday, May 11, 2006 – 7th grade Math SOL Test
