Field Day This Friday – Volunteers Needed!
Nice weather for a Burley Field Day THIS Friday!
Come one, come all! Last call for volunteers to come make the day fun and
refreshing for our kids! Ms. Boyd has lots of games and activities to keep
the fun rolling after the Talent Show. Won't you come and help? We can use
help during the day to guide sports, run concessions, hydrate the kids and
whip 'em in a game of basketball!! Call Michele Bascle (293-0604, or
basclefamily at earthlink.net <mailto:basclefamily at earthlink.net> ) if you can
commit to some time between 9:30 – 4:00 PM. If you got game, come at 2 PM
to challenge our young competitors in a basketball game!
Fundraiser Frozen Food Delivery This Friday!
If you participated in the PTO frozen food fundraiser last month, your
orders will be delivered this Friday. You can pick them up between 3:30 and
6:30 P.M. in the cafeteria. Parking in the bus loop is available after 4:15
P.M. Please note that you must pick up your orders THIS FRIDAY. These are
frozen items!! Any items NOT picked up on Friday will be charged $5.00 per
order to store in the school freezer. If you have any questions, please
call Shelley Payne at 984-6862 or e-mail shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu
<mailto:shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu> .
Also, if you can help with the delivery anytime between 2:00 – 6:30, please
contact Shelley.  Thanks!!
8th Grade Dance Donations Still Needed!
Many thanks to all the wonderful parents who have already provided donations
for the 8th Grade Dance next Friday. However, we are still looking for
additional donations to help cover the costs of the food, decorations and
music for the evening – any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Dance Photographer: We need someone who can take photos of the kids at the
dance. To do this, we’ll need a digital camera and printer as well as a
photographer who knows how to use them. The dance committee will provide
the photo paper and other needed supplies. If you can help with this please
contact Shelley Payne at 984-6862 or shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu
<mailto:shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu> .
The dance committee is looking for the following decorations, please contact
Susan Turner at 971-8122 or susanturner at adelphia.net
<mailto:susanturner at adelphia.net> if you have any of the following items:
*         Wicker furniture
*         Indoor spotlights
* Silk plants, planters and/or flats of flowers
*         Oriental rugs
* Large pieces of burlap fabric (or similar)
* Bulk oriental/Arabian spices (cumin, coriander, cardamom,
turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, etc.)
* Small wooden bowls or baskets
