No student Pick-up/Drop-off in Bus Loop or Staff Parking Lot
Parents please remember that the bus loop and staff parking area near the
bus loop are not available for student drop-off or pick-up due to safety
concerns. Busses are pulling in and leaving the bus loop all day and
particularly between 8:50 10 A.M. and 3:30 4:15 P.M. In general, parent
vehicles should not enter the bus loop area during the school day.
PTO Positions
There are many opportunities for parents to volunteer with the PTO this
year. We especially need 6th grade parents to come on board to co-chair
several of our events so that we have continuity next year when several of
these current coordinators get ready to graduate from Burley. Also, all
of these positions can be shared with a friend. Our next PTO meeting will
be on September 13 at 8 A.M. and all parents (and teachers!) are invited to
attend. The location will be announced in a future Bulletin.
If you have any questions about any position, please contact Shelley Payne
at 984-6862 or shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu <mailto:shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu>
.
NOTE: All event coordinators are given a list of volunteers from the
information collected on the Volunteer Information Form. Most events have
many parents willing to work, so the event coordinator is not trying to find
workers, just scheduling them!
PTO President Currently the PTO is working as an executive committee until
this position is filled. Ideally, the PTO would like a 6th grade parent (or
a 7th /8th grade parent with younger siblings) to volunteer for this
position and serve with the other officers in the executive committee as a
President-Elect this year and President next year.
