New Student Orientation – Volunteers Needed
Please remember that New Student Orientation is this Wednesday, August 15.
The school will be open beginning at 6:00 P.M. for tours, band try-outs, PE
uniform purchase and Gifted Student Orientation.  The Orientation program
will begin at 7:00 P.M.
We will need several volunteers to staff our PTO tables from 6:00 – 7:00.

Back to School Night – Volunteers Needed
Please mark your calendars now for Back to School Night on Wednesday,
September 5, 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.
We will need several volunteers to staff our PTO tables on this night as

about student academic and athletic accomplishments throughout the school
year.  I’d also love to hear about any achievements and awards for our
faculty and staff.
Asbestos Message for Parents and Building Staff
Please be aware that the Asbestos Management Plan for Burley is located in
the Main Office area.  Asbestos removal is usually planned for the summer
months, but may take place during the school year as needed.  All Federal
Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements are followed
when asbestos is removed from the school.  If you have any questions
concerning existing asbestos in the school, or planned removal of asbestos,
please do not hesitate to contact Lindsay Check, Environmental Compliance
Manager for Albemarle County Public Schools, at 434-975-9340 or
