Art Club Collecting Supplies for Donation
Ms. Dean's art club will be sending art supplies to an orphanage in Mexico
called Casa Hogar. Donations would be greatly accepted. Art club members are
asked to donate one art material each. If you would like to provide crayons,
paints, brushes, pencils, etc. Please send all donations to Ms. Dean by
December 20th. Art club students are also creating drawings of these
children to send as well. We are hoping to make a box of goodies to send to
the kids!
Toy Lift Thank You
Many thanks to all the folks who volunteered for the Toy Lift either with
their time or donations.  Burley had 32 families who requested assistance,
so this time, effort, and resources was a direct help to kids in the Burley
community and to other children in the area.

Ms. Sams
Dear Santa,
I would like school supplies to share with my students: colored pencils,
notebook dividers, tan or white card stock, dry erase makers and line
pencils.  I have been very good this year... Okay I tried to be very good
this year.
Yours Truly,
Maggi Sams
Ms. Blackman
*         Dry erase markers
*         Gel marking pens
*         Lots of colored pencils
Thanks.
Ms. Ragland
This is my list:
*         Hole puncher
*         Laminating machine (see below)
*         6 inch binders
*         Velcro (a lot)
*         Games - k-3 elementary school or lower and puzzles
*         Pencil sharpener
*         Tissues
*         Hand sanitizer
*         Batteries (AAA, AA)
*         Balls (basketball, beach style balls)
*         2 or 3 digital timers (at least one elapsed time–timers, these can
be purchased at Teachers Edition)

The special ed department use a laminator a lot for their special needs, but
don't have their own so the seventh grade shares with them.  However, it
would save the special ed teachers time and they'd have the laminator
available for themselves 24/7.  The cost of the laminator is  $123.99.  The
cartridges are around $50 (laminating film). They'd probably need about 4
cartridges of film to last the year. The special needs department doesn't
have a large budget and could really use this item.  If any parents are
interested in making donations towards this specific item please contact Jim
Jansen at HYPERLINK "mailto:jjansen at acm.org"jjansen at acm.org or 295-2585.
New Check-In System
As of November 26, Burley began using a new check-in system for volunteers
and visitors to our school.  This system will automatically track visitor
and volunteer hours, so please remember to check yourself out of the
system!!  Beginning in the second semester (mid-January 2008) we will begin
using the system to check students in and out of school.  Since this is a
new system please be patient as we learn how this system works.  If you have
any questions please contact Tammy Skinner at 295-5101.
