EXPO Night Volunteers Still Needed!
We are still in need of volunteers for EXPO Night.  So far only 3 people
have come forward to help.  Please contact Jennifer Wagoner at HYPERLINK

help.  Here are the areas where we need YOU!
*         Bake Sale:  We need at least 3 volunteers who can work at the bake
sale table.  We have several students who will do most of the work, but we
need at least one adult there to supervise during three 45-minute shifts
(5:00-5:45, 5:45-6:15, 6:15-7:00).
*         PTO Table:  We need 6 volunteers to work the PTO tables (one
outside the school office and one outside the media center) We’ll need 2
people at each table during three shifts (5:00-5:45, 5:45-6:15, 6:15-7:00). 
These volunteers will greet and help people sign in.
*         Spaghetti Dinner:  We need 6 volunteers to collect money for the
Spaghetti Dinner (2 people in each shift, 5:00-5:45, 5:45-6:15, 6:15-7:00). 
*         Silent Auction:  We need 2 volunteers who can work the Silent
Auction from 5:00 – 7:00.
Grade Level Baskets
We are still looking for donations for the grade level baskets if you can
drop items off at Burley today before 3:00 PM.  The themes are:
*         6th grade – Pet Lovers
*         7th grade – Bath & Body
*         8th grade – Movie Night

Golden Apple Award – Deadline This Thursday
Who will represent Burley as this year's Golden Apple Award Winner?
Nominations are being taken for the 7th Annual Golden Apple Awards for
outstanding teachers in our area.  The Golden Apple Award is a means of
selecting and honoring some of our outstanding teachers.  One candidate is
selected to represent their school and receives a golden apple as well as
gift certificates from local businesses.  As a "Golden Apple" teacher, each
candidate is then eligible to receive a Golden Apple Grant worth $1000. 
Candidates are faculty members at any level and teach any discipline.
Candidates for this award have demonstrated excellence in teaching and
involvement in the community outside the school. Previous Award recipients
are not eligible for nomination.

are being accepted until March 1.  Return nominations to the front office

March Dance Volunteers Needed
The school is planning a really fun St. Patrick’s Day Dance on Friday, March
16th from 4:15-7 PM.  However, we will need volunteers in the following area
to make it a true success:
*         8-12 chaperones/dance floor monitors, both moms and dads!  Contact

*         Party decorators starting around 1:00 PM that day.  Contact Sarah

*         1-2 parents to hand out raffle tickets, draw the raffles and hand

*         “Crowning Area” for the King & Queen of Shamrock – Students will
vote on the king and queen for their grade during P.E. classes that week. 
We would like to create a special crowning area, so all you creative types

2007-08 PTO Board
We are beginning to think about next year's PTO board.  Since several of the
current board members will be leaving the school, we need to fill some
