2007-08 PTO Organizational Meetings
Although your current PTO Officers (Shelley Payne, Beverly Rakes, Jennifer
Wagoner, Susan Walker and Teacher Rep. Evelyn Wilson) really like each other
and love to see each other, we would REALLY like see some new faces at our
PTO meetings.  Quite honestly, we need some new folks to come help us keep
this PTO energized and effective, so please attend one of our two
organizational meetings this week.  We will be discussing PTO meeting times
and frequency, PTO activities for the upcoming school year and anything else
you feel we should be doing as a PTO.  We will also review what we have
accomplished this past year. 
We will be getting together on Tuesday, May 8 at 7:30 PM and again on
Wednesday, May 9 at Noon.  Both meetings will be in the Auditorium. 
We especially need to have rising 6th and 7th grade parents in attendance!! 
This will be a great opportunity to meet other parents and learn more about
what we do as a PTO.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week Activities & Volunteers
We have several volunteer opportunities this week to help us celebrate
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.  Please contact Shelley Payne at

can help with any of these activities.
?          Thursday, May 10 from 3:00-4:00 – Help distribute Teacher and
Staff gifts
?          Friday, May 11 – Ice Cream Social:
§         Ice Cream Scoopers:  11:00 – 1:30 P.M.  You can work a portion or
the whole time.
§         Cafeteria Monitors:  We will need two volunteers to work in the
cafeteria from 11:55 – 12:25
Monticello High School Sports Physicals
Anyone who wishes to participate in any athletic event during the upcoming
school year must have a current physical on file with the athletic
department.  The physical will cover 2007-2008 sports events.  Football,
Baseball, Track, etc...  Students will not be eligible to condition or try
out without having a physical.
Athletic Physicals will be held at Monticello High School on May 24th. 
Girls will be between 4-5:30 PM.  Boys physicals will be 5:30-7:00 PM.  The
cost is $5.00 per person.  Please download the physical forms on the
athletic web-site.  Thanks!
We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with the physicals that can
help give eye exams and do blood pressure screens.  Please contact Tracy
Seale at 434-244-3130.
