2007-08 PTO Organizational Meetings
Many thanks to all who attended our meetings this week. We had some great
discussions about new PTO meeting formats for next year and we also shared
information about the variety of jobs available with the PTO. Look for more
information about open PTO positions in the next week or so. In the
meantime, if you have any questions about next year’s PTO please contact

? Thursday, May 10 from 3:00-4:00 – Help distribute Teacher and
Staff gifts – need one more volunteer
? Friday, May 11 – Ice Cream Social:
§ Ice Cream Scoopers: 11:00 – 1:30 P.M. You can work a portion or
the whole time. – need 2 more volunteers, please bring your own scoop!
§ Cafeteria Monitors: We will need two volunteers to work in the
cafeteria from 11:55 – 12:25 – need one more volunteer

Albemarle High School Football Information
Information on AHS’s football conditioning from Head Coach Rick Vrhovac:
Once a physical is turned in, we start weight lifting on :-)une 13th from
6-7:30 PM.

Monticello :-)V Sports Information
For those rising 8th and 9th graders who are interested in participating in
sports at Monticello during the 2007-2008 school year, physicals will be
held on Thursday, May 24. Physicals for girls will be held from 4:00 - 5:30
pm. Physicals for boys will be held from 5:30- 7:00 pm. These physicals
are $5.00 each, and the paperwork will automatically be filed for you for
the 2007-2008 school year. Forms can be downloaded from the Monticello
Athletic web-site by going to HYPER:-(IN:-|

Monticello web-site. Forms can also be picked up at the Monticello Athletic
Office.
Parents, please note: There is an activity bus that will take those 8th
grade Burley students participating in Monticello sports over to Monticello
for afternoon practices when school lets out at the end of each day.
However, you will need to provide transportation for your 8th grader
participating in Monticello sports if he/she needs to be at Monticello
earlier in the day to catch a bus to an away game.
:-)V Field Hockey at Monticello
For those uprising 8th and 9th grade girls possibly interested in playing
:-)V Field Hockey at Monticello next year, here is important information and
opportunities to work on their skills this spring/summer:
Coach :-|atie Haskins holds Field Hockey clinics on Saturdays from 2:00 -
5:00 pm on the back practice field. These are FREE!!!!! Dates through
:-)uly are May 19, :-)une 2, :-)une 16, :-)uly 7, and :-)uly 21.
The Albemarle Dragons Field Hockey Club will be holding its 4th Annual
Summer Advantage Clinic for middle and high school players the week of
:-)une 18. The clinic will run from Monday, :-)une 18 through Thursday,
:-)une 21 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Western Albemarle. This clinic is coached
by Chip Rogers and Missi Sanders. There will be skills, rules and
conditioning clinics, along with pick up games. For additional information
concerning this clinic, please contact Coach :-(eigh McCauley (home
823-6210, cell 962-4341, work 924-2592). Coach Saunders is the former Head
Coach of UVA Field Hockey. The cost of this clinic is very reasonable.
Monticello Field Hockey Tryouts will begin on August 1. For more
information about Monticello's Field Hockey program, please contact Coach
