8th Grade Dance Donations & Volunteers
Attention all 8th grade parents!  If you haven’t already sent in a donation
for the 8th grade dance, please consider doing so as soon as you can.  We
have a hard working group of parent volunteers who are trying very hard to
make this a memorable event for our students.  Even the smallest donation is
greatly appreciated.  Donations may be sent in an envelope marked “8th Grade
Dance” and can either be mailed to Burley at 901 Rose Hill Drive,
Charlottesville, VA 22901, or sent in to school with their child and
delivered to the main office.
We also are still in need of volunteers to help decorate. If interested,

SOL and End of Year Testing Schedule
The following is the SOL/ End of Course Testing schedule. All students have
been trained on the computers for the reading and content tests (5/15, 5/16,
5/21, 5/22, 5/23, and 5/24). The math SOL will be taken on paper and pencil
by most students on 5/17, except Algebra and Geometry students who will take
an end of course test on 5/30 on the computer.
Please help support your student during this very busy and somewhat
stressful time. Some helpful suggestions are:
?          Students should get a good night sleep prior to testing
?          Try to eat a good protein rich breakfast
?          Review a 10 minutes every night the week before the test
?          Remind students to take their time and do their best
?          PLEASE no cell phones, mp3 players, ipods, etc. in testing rooms!
