Burley Bearettes & Symphonic Band to be Honored October 11th!
The Burley Bearettes and Burley Symphonic Band have been invited to the
School Board meeting this Thursday, October 11, at 6:30 PM in the auditorium
of the County Office Building.  The school board is requesting their
presence to congratulate them on winning "National Grand Champion" trophies
this past Spring in Virginia Beach.  Members of the ensembles and their
families are invited.  Contact Mr. Jennings and / or Mrs. Allen for details.
Please plan to be seated and quiet by 6:25 PM.  Students are encouraged to
dress appropriately for the event.

Burley Night at Cici’s Pizza!
We are having our first Cici’s Pizza Night tomorrow, October 11th, from 5 -
8 PM.  Please invite your family, friends and neighbors to go out tomorrow
for dinner and support Burley.  It’s simple to participate, just put your
receipt into the crock labeled "Burley Middle School."  At the end of the
evening Cici's will give us 10% of the value of the gross receipts in the
crock. 
Homework Hotline
When a student is absent from school on a short-term basis, he/she may
obtain their daily assignments by calling the HOMEWORK HOTLINE at 296-5836.
The HOMEWORK HOTLINE is updated daily by 5:30 p.m.  When school is closed
for inclement weather, students are expected to check the HOMEWORK HOTLINE
every two days for their assignments.  Homework assignments will also be
recorded in Spanish
When a student is absent over an extended period of time, the guidance
office will handle all calls requesting assignments.  Twenty-four hours
notice is required in order to allow ample time to contact teachers and
gather assignments.
Parents may also request homework directly from teachers via e-mail. Teacher
