Teen Health Night Tomorrow!!!
Please make plans to attend our Teen Health Night this Thursday.  Come for
as little or as long as you like.  We know that we will have volleyball and
lacrosse games and/or practices going on tomorrow so plan on dropping by
while you’re at the school.  We will be starting at 5:30 and will have 4
½-hour information sessions beginning at 6:00 P.M.  Here is a sample of the
topics we’ll cover:
*         Safe Surfing on the Internet – Deputy Kevin M. Sprouse, Albemarle
County Sheriff's Office
*         Poison Awareness for Parents and Teens – Sue Kell, PhD, Education
Director of the Blue Ridge Poison Center
*         Teens and Sleep – Gabriele Ford, RN, MSN, FNP-C, with the
Pediatric UVA Children's Hospital Sleep Disorders Program
*         Acne: Truths and Myths – Brett D. Krasner, M.D., Board Certified
Dermatologist, Family Dermatology of Albemarle
*         How to Talk to Your Child About Sexuality – Mary A. Sullivan,
M.Ed., UVA Teen Health Center
*         Proper Strength Training Techniques – Trish Phillips, Director of
Fitness, Glenmore Country Club
*         Yoga, Heidi Johnson, Fitness Instructor, Glenmore Country Club
*         Making Healthy Food Choices, Vicki King, Albemarle County Public

*         Adolescent Healthcare, Kelly Vincel, Pediatric Associates Teen

Please spread the word on this event with your family and friends.  This
event is open to all parents in the community, not just Burley.  Also feel
free to bring your teens and tweens, too!
Art Club sponsors the Spring Dance This Friday!!!
 
As those creative out of the box thinkers, we are trying something a bit
different for this dance. You can purchase tickets in advance. This is a
great opportunity for parents to make a small donation to the art club. Even
if you aren't sending you child to the dance you can still buy a ticket and
make a $3.00 donation. So, if you love what you have been seeing around
school from the art club, Please support them and purchase a dance ticket!

Tickets will be $3.50 at the door.
The dance is Friday March 28, 2008 from 4:15-7:00 p.m.
Mulch Sale This Saturday
The Stony Point PTO will be selling Mulch on Saturday, March 29th. The
prices are cheaper than Lowe’s and it supports the school. For more info
