Each Albemarle County school has a representative on the gifted
advisory committee. This committee works in collaboration with the school
division to advise the school board about the educational needs of all
gifted students, to review the local plan for gifted, to serve as an
advocate for gifted education, and to promote dialogue on issues related to
gifted education.
Specifically, our gifted advisory committee representative
participates in gifted advisory committee meetings five times per year
(scheduled for October 9, November 27, January 22, March 5, April 9 from 5
7 pm in room 320, cob) and reviews programming and services in our school by
meeting with the principal and gifted resource teacher. Advisory committee
members serve two year appointments.
For the next two years, our school will be represented by a
parent. If you are interested in serving on the gifted advisory committee,
please contact Paula White by August 25.
