Beautification Committee Seeking Helpers and Ideas!
 
Let's show the same pride in the outside of the school as we do the inside!  We'd like to do some spiffing up this fall, and if you enjoy gardening, working with your hands, landscaping, have plant knowledge,  or have creative ideas to make the school more inviting and welcoming for all, please contact Laura Daly at 823-1552.   You can give as little or as much of your time as you'd like! 
 
 Some of the project ideas include:
 
    *  Using free mulch supplied by the Parks and Rec Department to mulch around all trees and front beds in October.
    *  Continue weeding, mulching, and adding plantings to the beds on either side of the "Crozet School" entrance sign.
    *  Trim the bushes along the front wall of the building to be uniform and allow more light into the windows.
    *  Make some additions to the front entrance that are cheerful and inviting to students and visitors - some current ideas: appealing colored planters, more flowers,  a ground flag,  or some sort of outdoor ornament/sculpture that perhaps the kids could design.
    *   Plant flowers or bushes in the courtyard round planters that are currently empty.  (butterfly bushes?)
    *   Work with the art teacher to have students design and create some additional weatherproof pieces, such as windchimes, birdhouses, sculptures, or the like....
    
All ideas and helpers are welcome!!  Let's create an outside that reflects the good things going on inside our school!  Thank you!
