Note From Albemarle SEAC Chairperson:
"If you are a family member of a student with an Individual Education Program (IEP) in Albemarle County schools, there is a resource you should know about. The Albemarle County Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is comprised of family members of students receiving special education services. One of its purposes is to advise the Special Education Administrative staff and the School Board of unmet needs for students with IEPs. SEAC meetings are friendly and open to the public, and public comment is welcome. It is a great chance to learn more about special education at Albemarle County schools and to meet fellow family members of students receiving services. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of most months except December during the school year, usually in Room 320 of the Albemarle County Office Building from 7:00-9:00 pm. Check the SEAC web page at http://webstorage.k12albemarle.org/specialeducation/SEAC.htm for up-to-date meeting information c ontact the SEAC Chairperson, Mark McLane, at mark.mclane at gmail.com , or (434) 296-1053 ."
