Special Education Advisory Committee

The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is comprised of parents whose children have individualized education plans (IEPs) in
Albemarle County schools. Crozet Elementary's representative on the
committee for 2007–2008 is Carrie Shuler.

One of the purposes of the committee is to advise the special education administrative staff and the school board of unmet needs for students with IEPs. If you have concerns or questions, please call Carrie Shuler at (434) 823-1272, or e-mail her at cshuler at embarqmail.com.

SEAC meetings are open to the public. During the school year, the SEAC meets on the fourth Tuesday of most months—although not in December—usually in Room 320 of the Albemarle County Office Building, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Check the Albemarle County Special Education Website for up-to-date meeting information.

The PREP/Parent Resource Center is also available for parents who have concerns or questions about special education. In addition to the library, coordinator Sarah Blech is available to answer questions. Call 975-9400, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
