Dear Crozet Elementary School Parents,

At its meeting on Thursday, December 11, 2008, the Albemarle County School Board accepted my recommendation that the Option known as Option III from Phase II of the Crozet to Brownsville redistricting plan be approved. As I have outlined previously, this will affect approximately 100 students from the area known as Grayrock. These students will be attending Brownsville Elementary School beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.

Now the important work of assuring a smooth transition for the Grayrock students to their new school will begin. I can assure you that both Mrs. Marcus and Mrs. Vining will work closely together with the Crozet and Brownsville parents and PTO’s to plan activities that will assist not only parents but the students in this process.

I’d like to thank you for your involvement in this process. As I’ve said before, redistricting is never easy.   However, you have provided your feedback and questions which have helped me in arriving at my recommendation.

May you and your families enjoy a happy and enjoyable holiday and return safely in the new year. As always, if my staff or I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Pamela R. Moran, Ed.D.

Division Superintendent
