Reminder: Do not drop off students before 8:45 AM as there is not adequate supervision prior to that time.

The increased enrollment at Henley this year has required an additional lunch period. There are currently 4 lunch periods, 1 each for 6th and 8th grades and 2 for 7th grade. The students are encouraged to bring a snack for the second block since this means that the last lunch period is now from 2:04 - 2:26 PM. The lunch schedule also "slides" (changes) so you do not have last lunch everyday.
***************************************
The new stoplight has meant some real challenges in getting the buses in and out of Henley in a timely manner. The school has been working with VDOT and the situation is improving.
***************************************
The Book Fair is this week and has a nice selection of adult books along with books for your middle school student. Remember the Book Fair will be open on Back to School Night from 6:30 - 9:30 PM.
***************************************
PATSO will be selling denim blue hooded sweatshirts with Henley in orange letters across the front. The cost is $25. You will be able to see a sample at Back to School night and order forms should come home in your child's backpack.
***************************************
The Day of Caring will be September 22 and some employees from UVA will be coming to Henley to repair the basketball hoops, repair the benches in the courtyard and plant flowers in the small courtyard.
***************************************
Albemarle County has purchased a system to allow immediate notification of families should an early school closing occur. You should have received an ESNS form with your first day packet. The system was unfortunately not yet operational when Ernesto came through, but should be up and working in the not too distant future. If you are interested in signing up you can still obtain the ESNS form in the office. Also if you have any changes you will need to complete a new form. If you choose not to complete the ESNS form but would still like to check on school closing information, you may go to the County web site at www.k12albemarle.org  click on the link for parents and then Emergency School Closings.
***************************************
Remember no school for students on Monday, September 25.
***************************************
The first dance is Friday, September 29, 4:00 - 6:30 PM.
***************************************
The next PATSO meeting is Monday, October 2.
