Update: Brownsville Elementary School and Henley Middle School Dismissal

This is an update regarding Brownsville Elementary School and Henley  
Middle School.


Due to the length of time it will take the Police Department to  
complete investigations of bomb threats at Brownsville and Henley,  
students at both schools will be dismissed early today.


Brownsville students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. and Henley  
students at 12:30 p.m. from Western Albemarle High School. Students  
at both schools who normally ride the bus home will be transported  
home by bus.


Parents who prefer to pick-up their Brownsville students are asked to  
call 434 823-8701 to make arrangements. Brownsville students will be  
dismissed from the Western Albemarle small gym. School staff will be  
present to help parents sign-out their students.


Henley parents who prefer to pick-up their Henley students are asked  
to call 434 823-8704 to make arrangements. Henley students will be  
dismissed from the Western Albemarle High large gym. School staff  
will be present to help parents sign-out their students.


Parents are asked not to call these numbers unless they are making  
changes to their normal daily pick-up plan. Parents picking-up their  
students should use the gym entrance to Western Albemarle High.


Brownsville and Henley student have had snacks but will not have  
lunch before dismissal.


All after-school or special events for Brownsville or Henley today  
have been cancelled. Brownsville's kindergarten registration will be  
rescheduled after Spring Break.


Western Albemarle is operating on its regular schedule, as are all  
other schools in the Western Feeder Pattern. After-school athletics  
and activities for Western Albemarle will continue as scheduled,  
unless students are notified otherwise by the school administration.


More information about the Police investigation and the school  
schedule for Brownsville and Henley for tomorrow will be provided  
later today.
