School Board Appoints Three Principals; One High School Assistant  
Principal

(ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Virginia) – Three principals and an assistant  
principal were named
during the Albemarle County School Board’s May 10, 2007 regular  
meeting. All will begin
their new positions in Albemarle County Public Schools in the 2007‐ 
08 school year.

Lisa “DeeDee” Jones was appointed principal of Cale Elementary  
School, Albemarle County’s
largest K‐5 campus. Jones currently serves as principal of  
Scottsville Elementary School. She
will replace Matt Landahl, who will transfer to Greer Elementary  
School to be principal.

Patrick McLaughlin was named principal of Henley Middle School.  
McLaughlin, an
Albemarle High School graduate, currently is an assistant principal  
at Deep Run High School
in Henrico County. McLaughlin will replace Dr. Anne Coughlin, who is  
retiring after a 27‐
year career in education in Albemarle County.

Carrie Neeley was appointed principal of Stony Point Elementary  
School. She currently serves
as the School Division’s language arts coordinator for grades K‐5.  
Neeley will replace David
Cushman, who is transferring to Baker‐Butler Elementary School to be  
principal.

Henry Atkins was named an assistant principal for Monticello High  
School. Atkins served as a
high school assistant principal in Henrico County and in Caroline  
County. He will replace
Russell Jarrett, Monticello High’s associate principal, who is  
retiring after a 31‐year career in
education.

The School Division is recruiting candidates for the Scottsville  
principal vacancy to find the
best match for the school as soon as possible.
