Bake Sale

On Thursday, October 4th, and on Wednesday, October 10th, during
parent conferences, 8th grade students are having a Bake Sale to
benefit the Alexandra Douglas Summers Scholarship Fund. Alex was an
8th grader at Henley last year, who died last month. We hope to raise
$1000 towards this fund. Please come ready to support the scholarship
fund, and go home with some great treats.

People not coming to conferences may also stop in after work to
purchase baked goods - we'll be ready by 4PM both days.

Thank you, Margie Shepherd/ Dexter Jackson

Volunteers

Are you still looking for a volunteer opportunity? The hospitality
committee can always use some additional help and may need more food
dishes for the Teacher dinners on Parent Conference Nights. If you
would like to be on the committee or would just like to help out with
the upcoming dinners please email Lori Blumberg
(mailto:lgband3 at embarqmail.com).

Also if you filled out the volunteer form at the beginning of the
year but have not been contacted yet please contact Martha Fox
(mailto:foxden4 at embarqmail.com).

residents of Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS). It is available
to anyone age 62 or above and a resident of Albemarle County. VIP
Gold Cards provide free admission to the following at any ACPS

Real Crozet VA

For anyone who may be interested here is a link and information from
Jim Duncan about the RealCrozetVA blog (http://www.realcrozetva.com/).

Crozet is a unique place to live and there is much to talk about,
much of it centered around the growth that we are experiencing. New
restaurants, new developments, potentially new grocery stores … new
neighbors … My vision for this blog sees this as a place to discuss
Crozet’s goings-on, music and cultural events, local vineyards,
politics, etc. Please be patient, and if anybody wants to help author
or manage this, please let me know. You may start here to learn a
little bit about some of what has been happening in Crozet. I live
and work in Crozet and want to facilitate community communication and
help Crozet become an even better place to live. Ideally, Real
Crozet VA will serve as a meeting/discussion point for growth issues,
babysitter needs, car-pooling … whatever is needed. Ideas are
welcomed; just contact Jim Duncan.
