WAHS Meeting for 8th Grade Parents
I know we are still getting into the swing of things, but I wanted to
make you all aware of information for our transition planning for the
current 8th grade students. WAHS will be holding its Parent
Information Evening to discuss the registration process on January
23, 2008 at 7:00pm. In the event of inclement weather, the program
will be postponed to January 30. Please put this date on your
calendars; as the date approaches, we will be in touch with
additional information.
Thanks!

School Climate Bullying Survey
On October 12th, all Henley students will take a School Climate
Bullying Survey constructed by UVA's Youth Violence Prevention
Project. Results from the survey combined with Henley's Olweus
Bullying Prevention Program provide key information about our school
community. Students and parents may opt out of this survey by
contacting their child's school counselor; however, the information
gathered is helpful in identifying potential concerns. If you would
like to see a copy of this survey, please stop by the Henley Office
anytime during the week of October 8th.
Sincerely,
Patrick J. McLaughlin, Ed. D.
Principal
Bake Sale
On Wednesday, October 10th, during parent conferences, 8th grade
students are having a Bake Sale to benefit the Alexandra Douglas
Summers Scholarship Fund. Alex was an 8th grader at Henley last year,
who died last month. We hope to raise $1000 towards this fund. Please
come ready to support the scholarship fund, and go home with some
great treats.
People not coming to conferences may also stop in after work to
purchase baked goods - we'll be ready by 4PM.
Thank you, Margie Shepherd/ Dexter Jackson
