All students will have multiple-choice assessments in Reading, Math, and Social Studies. In addition, eighth grade students will be tested in Science. A schedule by grade/test is shown below. This is a final event for 8th grade Civics and Economics classes. Students write an essay about their ideas for making the world a better place, then they create crafts pieces - quilts, floorcloths, furniture and more - to reflect this same theme. These will be sold at a silent auction at Henley, May 29th, 4:30 - 7. All proceeds go to do just that - help the world. This time we are supporting The Solar Energy Project - which teaches women in Central America to make Solar Ovens, and reduce the need for firewood, and to funding a well in a community with no well in Haiti, through the Robert Ford Orphanage and School Project. We have given to this organization a few times, and know that the money there has a great effect on the people we help.
