Food Drive:

The food bank is in critical need so we have decided to extend our food drive through December.
Thanks to the generosity of our Meriwether Families, we were able to donate 298 food items to the
food bank in time for Thanksgiving.  Please bring in your non-perishable food items to help those
in need during this holiday season.

Thank you so much for your help!!





Box Tops 4 Education:

Look for the flier in your child's backpack this week, providing you with lots of program
information.  When you shop on line for your holiday gifts, please consider doing so through their
Market Place, where the school earns a percentage from your purchase.





MLS Spiritwear:

MLS Spiritwear is available with the new oval "MLS" logo.  Items available include sweats,
t-shirts, athletic shorts, water bottles, baseball hats, bumper stickers and magnets.  Order
anytime, but orders placed before December 7 will be delivered before Winter Break!

Order forms are available in the office, or contact Gwen Goodkin (goodkingw at aol.com, 984-4649).




MLS Silent Auction News:

We need YOUR help to raise the $13,000 which has been budgeted for the April MLS PTO Silent
Auction.  Solicitation letters will be mailed to local businesses the 1st week of January.  We
need a few volunteers to follow-up with merchants and contact neighboring businesses.  We are just
asking an hour of your time. If you are unable to help in this manner, do you work at a business
that you would be willing to contact the owner for a donated item.  What about a local celebrity? 
We can provide you with the form and cover letter.  Barbara Congdon (co-chair) and myself  will be
having a brief meeting to answer questions and discuss locations in the next several weeks. 
Please contact Wendi Ruschmann Silent Auction co-chair wruschmann at comast.net if you would be
willing to donate a small amount of time.  Thank you for your support.   MLS families will be
contacted for contributions in March.




Wethervane Submissions:

Please send submissions for the monthly PTO newsletter Wethervane to Liz Ratcliffe at
lizratcliffe at gmail.com by December 10.




Meriwether Marketplace:

Advertise items for sale, services, and announcements 
in the MERIWETHER LEWIS MARKETPLACE, published the 
third Friday of each month with WETHERVANE. No item 
too small when it's FREE! Deadline for submission is the 
third Monday of each month.
