Yearbook Photos Wanted:

It's Yearbook time again and Cindy Marks could use your help! Any parents, students or teachers
that have adorable photos (please DO be picky!) can either email individual shots to
momwithamac at earthlink.net or burn a CD and leave it in the office for the Yearbook Folder. If you
have good, ol' fashioned prints, I can scan a few of those and again, leave them in the office for
the Yearbook Folder. You may have to stop in and pick them up from that same folder at the end of
the year if you need them back.

Thank you so much for all your efforts and here's looking forward to a wonderful keepsake of our
school year!

Enrichment Zone:

Winter is here. The weather is cold but the Enrichment Zone has a Wonder Filled session to light
the fire of your imagination & creativity. Classes will run for five weeks Feb. 5 - Mar. 9 at our
regular 4-week price of $60 per class. That's one free class! Among the exciting offerings in
our Wonder-Filled Winter session are:
Gross & Gooey Chemistry with Mad Scientist Bob Wilson
Marvelous Mondays & Totally Terrific Tuesdays in the Gym with Coaches Williams & Wymer
Sculpture Class with Mr. Sherogan
Girl Power with Betsy Bell
Lego Robotics with Mr. Reid
and more!
Applications arrive in backpack mail this week so as soon as you see them, fill them out & send
them in!

Foreign languages, Spanish, Chinese & French, run all semester starting this week and ending May
10th for $140 per semester. This is an incredible, fun & convenient way to exercise your mind
while gaining a life-long skill. Languages meet once a week on either Wednesday or Thursday and
there are a few openings in each language at this time. Applications available in office or with
Enrichment Zone brochure in backpack mail this week.

Paper Bag Collection:

The paper bag collection is continuing!  The Emergency Food Bank is in need of paper grocery
bags.  Just take your standard, good-condition bags, fold them neatly and put into another bag.
The collection box is in the front lobby.

County School Budget and Calendar:

Don't delay - this is your chance to let your voice be heard on two important topics: the county
school budget and the 2007-08 school calendar. Check them out at www.k12albemarle.org The budget
information is available for your review. There is also a special option to provide feedback for
the proposed school calendar for next year. This option is only active until 1/26/07 (this coming
Friday).

The School Board will receive public input regarding the proposed budget at 6pm on Wednesday,
January 31st in the County Office Building. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing
regarding the budget on Wednesday, March 7th (this is a date change) at 6pm in the County Office
Building.
