Join us for Meriwether Lewis's 4th Annual Fall Festival of Cultures, a celebration of world

your international jump rope skills, and test your geography knowledge. Try Ghanian block
printing, writing your name in Viking runes, wrapping a Jamaican rasta bracelet, cutting an Otomi
paper figure, or making a Vietnamese dragon. Enjoy Chinese ribbon dancers, a judo demonstration, a
lesson in traditional Indian Manipuri dance, and a Palestinian/Lebanese dance performance. Plus
sample authentic Romanian, Italian, Mexican, English, Indian, Persian/Iranian, Serbian, Spanish,
Cajun food and much more!

$4/child $1/adult
$16 cap/family
Wear your international best!

DONATIONS NEEDED

International Rescue Committee Collection

The Fall Festival of Cultures is sponsoring a collection of new (not used) school supplies and
children's winter gear for the International Rescue Committee. The IRC resettles families in
Charlottesville year round, and your family can help ease that transition by donating coats,
backpacks, gloves, school supplies, and hats. The collection ends October 19, so please remember
to drop off you donations in the large IRC boxes in the front hall. Thank you for your support!

Box Tops:

Box Top Coordinator Angela Sawyer is looking for a few volunteers to gather at her home to count
the Box Tops. She will provide coffee and refreshments. Friday Oct. 19th 8:30 - 9:30 AM.
Please call Angela at 296-1956. Thanks!

Do You Want to Really Help Your Teachers?!

We still need a few more volunteers in the copy center to have it fully covered. Please contact
Jennie Carter if you're interested at jenniecee at earthlink.net.
