Birthday Book Club:
Support the MLS Library!
Parents provide a $20 donation for a book for the library in honor of a child's birthday. Our
librarian, Watts Schwab, selects an age-appropriate book to be donated. Your child's name is
inscribed on a bookplate and announced over the school intercom during morning announcements
during the week of Jan. 7-11, 2008.
Complete the form your child brought home in backpack mail.
If you have any questions, call Adelaide King at 979-9888 or e-mail her at adelaideking at gmail.com.
Calling All Cultures!
The annual Fall Festival of Cultures will be held Friday, October 19th from 6-8 p.m. We are
looking for Meriwether families who would like to share their cultures through food, crafts, games
and performances. If you could share a traditional craft or game, if you know a dance troupe,
musician, or storyteller, if you can provide a sample of your regional cuisine, or if you have
another way you'd like to help celebrate the diversity of cultures at Meriwether Lewis please
contact Mary Dutta at mbdutta at comcast.net. We also have many volunteer opportunities for the
event, so please let us know if you can help make the evening a success.
