SILENT AUCTION NEWS:
Absentee Bidding at Silent Auction Available:
For the first time, the MLS auction will provide families with the opportunity to bid early on
Featured Items listed in the front of the auction brochure. If you will be out of town or just
can't make it to the Silent Auction, you can bid on a featured item up to Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
Details on how to submit your absentee bid, featured items and the entire list of offerings were
sent to you via backpack mail on Tuesday. Friends of MLS familes and new families are welcome to
attend, bid, and participate in the Fun Fair and Silent Auction. Please share the brochure
contents, especially the featured items, with your special friends.
Teacher Donations:
On Tuesday afternoon, parents can also begin bidding on the teacher auction donations at the
school located outside the office hallway. You will need your auction brochure number located on
the silent auction brochure. Bidding on these items will continue through 7:30 p.m. Friday,
April 18th.
** Bidding for all items will start at 5:30. Class Projects and Teacher Donations will close at
7:30. All other auctions will close in stages starting at 7:45. There will be signs posted to
notify you of the closing times.

Volunteers needed to distribute MLS ART FUNDRAISER orders!
Thanks to all the wonderful parents who have helped make the MLS Art Fundraiser so successful this
year!
We will be meeting on Monday April 21 in the Art Room to distribute the orders to teachers.
Please join us if you can! We appreciate any help you can offer between 8:30 and 10:30am.

Lace up those running shoes, bring a picnic dinner, and meet us at the Meriwether track for family
relays, prizes, popsicles, and an all-around good time for the whole family. To register contact

HENLEY JAZZ BENEFIT CONCERT
Mark your calendars! The Henley Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir will be
performing a benefit concert on Friday, April 25, at 7:00 PM in the
Lane Auditorium in the County Office Building. Internationally
renowned jazz musicians Stephanie Nakasian and Hod O'Brien will be
performing the final act of the evening.
All proceeds from this concert will go to the Blue Ridge Area Food
Bank, which supplies food to needy families in our community. Concert
tickets are available at the door, or at Greenberry's and Heinz
Musitronics for $10 (individual ticket) and $25 (family ticket). Any
additional donations are welcome as all funds collected will go to the
local food bank.
Come out and enjoy an evening of jazz and support a very important
resource for our community.
