HENLEY JAZZ BENEFIT CONCERT
Mark your calendars! The Henley Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Choir will be
performing a benefit concert on Friday, April 25, at 7:00 PM in the
Lane Auditorium in the County Office Building. Internationally
renowned jazz musicians Stephanie Nakasian and Hod O'Brien will be
performing the final act of the evening.
All proceeds from this concert will go to the Blue Ridge Area Food
Bank, which supplies food to needy families in our community. Concert
tickets are available at the door, or at Greenberry's and Heinz
Musitronics for $10 (individual ticket) and $25 (family ticket). Any
additional donations are welcome as all funds collected will go to the
local food bank.
Come out and enjoy an evening of jazz and support a very important
resource for our community.
MLS ART FUNDRAISER CO-CHAIRS (OR CHAIR) NEEDED!
Do you love fun projects that put a smile on our children's (and parents) faces? Then consider
chairing or co-chairing the MLS Art Fundraiser. Contact Michelle Goodrich
(michellegoodrich at embarqmail.com) or Kim Crater (kimcrater at ths85.net) for more information!
Donate to Henley's "Style Closet"
The 8th grade dinner dance at Henley Middle School is the end of May, and we are collecting
dresses and accessories in excellent condition for the "Style Closet."
The purpose? So that no girl will not attend because she cannot afford a dress. We
are charging a nominal amount ($10) so that it does not feel like charity - more like a really
good sale!
The 8th grade dance is NOT a prom, so please donate cocktail length dresses and
sundresses. All sizes, since the girls are all over the place in terms of size and shapes. Boy's
blazers or dress pants and shoes are also welcome.
The funds raised will go to a fund for field trip scholarships and activities fees so that no
student is left out.
The Style Closet will be held on May 7 in the school.
Please donate your "outgrown", excellent condition and stylish dresses or sundresses, shoes or
purses that you would be proud to see your own daughter wear. You may drop them off at
Henley Middle School beginning next week.
Thank you.
