Golden Apple Awards:
Nominate a teacher for the 8th Annual Golden Apple Awards for outstanding teachers. Information

Deadline for nominations: March 3, 2008, return forms to MLS office.

MLS Art Fundraiser
Our children have been creating artwork in class for the MLS Art Fundraiser (Thanks to Mr.
Sherogan and our wonderful parent volunteers). Packets containing your child's artwork will come
home via backpack mail on February 28th!
The deadline for orders is March 6th. All orders will be returned to you well before Mothers Day.
Feel free to visit the display case in the MLS lobby for product samples.
Please note that you may substitute art from home but all art must be 8" x 10 1/2". If you need
extra paper, we will have some at the front desk or you can use your own paper and cut it to these
dimensions.

YEARBOOKS:
If you have not placed your order for a yearbook it's not too late. Send in cash or check made
out to the MLS PTO for $18.00 in an envelope. Please include your child's name and teacher. A
list of families that have already purchased books is posted on the PTO bulletin board in the
front hall at school. We ran out of books last year and based on numbers ordered so far we will
be ordering fewer books this year. Don't delay; order today. Questions: call Angela Sawyer

Wethervane Submissions:
Please send submissions for the monthly PTO newsletter Wethervane to Liz Ratcliffe at
lizratcliffe at gmail.com by the 10th of each month.
Meriwether Marketplace:
Advertise items for sale, services, and announcements
in the MERIWETHER LEWIS MARKETPLACE, published the
third Friday of each month with WETHERVANE. No item
too small when it's FREE! Deadline for submission is the
third Monday of each month.

advertise for an annual donation of $200.
