Art Fundraiser volunteers needed on January 28th, 2008!
Our children have been busy creating art in class for the MLS Art Fundraiser (Thanks to Mr.
Sherogan and the wonderful parent volunteers who have helped with this process!).
On January 28th, from 8:30 - 10:30 in the MLS Art Room, we will be putting parent packets
together including each child's artwork.
We are asking for volunteers to help assemble these packets which will be going home to parents in
February. Please join us if you can! We appreciate any help you can offer between 8:30 and
10:30am.
Co-chairs Michelle Goodrich (michellegoodrich at embarqmail.com) and Kim Crater (296-4764)

Where: Burley Middle School, Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville
Who: Parents of 4th 8th grade students
Presented by the Jackson P. Burley Middle School PTO
Although high school graduation seems a long way off to parents of middle and elementary school
students, there are things you can do now to help your child make better decisions and have more
options regarding their future.
- Better understand financial aid and the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan program.
- Learn about the wide variety of college and career planning services provided through the
Albemarle County school system and other career planning resources.
- Learn how to help your child set goals and learn the skills to be a valuable worker both in
school and beyond.
These sessions will be lead by highly qualified individuals from the Virginia 529 College Savings
Plan, Albemarle County Schools, UVa, CATEC, and PVCC. For more information, please contact Shelley
Payne at 984-6862 or shp33 at embarqmail.com
