MLS PTO TEACHER APPRECIATION RAFFLE!

We're at the end of another great MLS school year, and we hope you're eager to show your thanks
and appreciation for our wonderful MLS teachers and staff by purchasing raffle tickets in their
name! 5 tickets ($2 each) were sent home with each student last week--please write the name of a
teacher, staff or administrator on each ticket you wish to purchase and send both the tickets and
your payment back to the school--THIS WEEK by MAY 9! Raffle tickets may be purchased throughout
the week of May 12, but you may miss the drawings for several great prizes.

If you wish to purchase additional tickets, please contact Mary Burton at 979-4239 or
mcburton4 at hotmail.com, and I will get them to you. Additional tickets are also available in the
school office.

Thank you to all the families who have purchased tickets already through backpack mail and at the
Fun Fair/Silent Auction. Our MLS PTO, students and teachers all benefit from your generosity!
Prize drawings will begin on Monday, May 12 and continue daily throughout the week. The Grand
Prize Drawing for a 3 night stay at the luxurious Wyndham Kingsgate Resort in Williamsburg will be
held Friday, May 16. Ms. Parmelee will be announcing the multiple winners each morning during
Teacher Appreciation Week.

In the event that a teacher's name is drawn more than once throughout the week, the winner will be
given the option of choosing ONE of the prizes. Another drawing will be done immediately to award
the other prize. There are 12 donated prizes at this time--which means at least 12 winning
teachers next week!

YEARBOOK:

Yearbooks will be coming home soon - there are only 6 copies left!  Send your check for $18.00
made out to MLS PTO in an envelope with your child's name and teacher and mark it "Yearbook."
These copies will be first come first serve. Additional copies are still available from the
printer, but there is no guarantee that they will be here by the end of the school year.  More
books will be ordered on Tuesday, May 6, in hope that they will be here by the end of
school.  These will require payment with the order.

Don't delay - send in your order today.

Donate to Henley's "Style Closet"

The 8th grade dinner dance at Henley Middle School is the end of May, and we are collecting
dresses and accessories in excellent condition for the "Style Closet."

The purpose? So that no girl will not attend because she cannot afford a dress. We
are charging a nominal amount ($10) so that it does not feel like charity - more like a really
good sale!

The 8th grade dance is NOT a prom, so please donate cocktail length dresses and
sundresses. All sizes, since the girls are all over the place in terms of size and shapes. Boy's
blazers or dress pants and shoes are also welcome.

The funds raised will go to a fund for field trip scholarships and activities fees so that no
student is left out.

The Style Closet will be held on May 7 in the school.

Please donate your "outgrown", excellent condition and stylish dresses or sundresses, shoes or
purses that you would be proud to see your own daughter wear. You may drop them off at
Henley Middle School beginning next week.

Thank you.
