[MurrayMatters] PTO meeting postponed until April 25th

  Dear Parents,
   
  Just a few updates.
   
  The April PTO meeting has been delayed until April 25 to accommodate Don Vale’s presentation to parents on April 18th.  There will be a full agenda at the April 25th meeting, including the election of new officers and a discussion of the new bylaws.   Please plan to attend. 
   
  We hope to be posting the final version of the bylaws to Murray Matters at the end of the week.  As it is a lengthy document, we are not distributing a hard copy to all parents at this time.  However, anyone wishing to receive a hard copy should contact committee chair, Rebecca Cardwell, at 293-6258 or cardwellr at earthlink.net, and she will be happy to provide you with the document.  The Bylaws Committee hopes to present and discuss the new bylaws at the April meeting and then send home a copy, incorporating any revisions, for vote by parents shortly thereafter.  
   
  Parents voted overwhelmingly to support the Executive Officers recommendation that the PTO become an unincorporated 501(c )(3) tax exempt entity.  We had an excellent response from the parent community.  Thank you to everyone who participated.
   
  The Original Art Fundraiser, chaired by Jennifer Kochard, was a tremendous success, raising more than $2,000 for the PTO.  Thank you,Jennifer.  
   
  On April 18th at 7:00  pm at Murray, Don Vale, Principal of Henley, will be addressing parents regarding the issues facing rising sixth graders.  This promises to be a helpful and informative presentation, so please mark your calendars.
