Dear Parents,
Bingo Night last weekend was fabulously successful once again. The school was packed with families having a great timewhether you were in the main room playing bingo or in the Silly Safari collecting stuffed animals or in the gym shooting hoopsand we netted almost $2,000 to boot.
It truly is a wonderful event that combines so much family fun and also raises funds to support programs that enrich your childs educational experience. Thank you, thank you to Nancy and John Spindel for organizing this event.
In addition to the Spindels, there are many people to thank for volunteering at this event. For fear that I will forget someone, I am going to name individually only Betty and Wayne Knight. Betty and Wayne are invaluable to the school in so many ways, but we especially appreciate their participation on Bingo Night. They do a terrific job getting the crowd excited and getting the job done.
Unfortunately for us, next year will be the Spindels last year at Murray Elementary. We are going to miss their energy and creativity on many fronts, but particularly acutely on Bingo Night. We are looking for someone to work with Nancy next year to learn the ropes of pulling off this tremendously successful event. If you have any interest, please contact Susan Weiner at 825-1646 or susanfweiner at yahoo.com. There is no question that this event requires some effort to organize, but Nancy and John have it down to a science and they will be happy to share this structure.
Thanks also to the legion of parents that helped at the door, managed games on the upper hall, monitored the gym, and cleaned up afterwards. Thanks also to the custodians for cleaning and readying the building for our children on Monday morning.
What a great event!
Susan Weiner
