Henley Principal Search

The search for a new Principal at Henley is underway.  The Henley  
Principal Search is a comprehensive process involving a national  
search and input from all stakeholders.  Starting earlier this year  
general administrative advertisements were placed nationally as well  
as regionally and locally.  This advertisement was not for a specific  
position but to identify people that might be interested in coming to  
Albemarle County.  In the past weeks, ads specific to Henley were  
placed in several Virginia newspapers, the Washington Post, and  
online.  All interested Albemarle County Public School employees have  
also been encouraged to apply.  The deadline for applicants is  
Friday, April 13.

Human Resources (HR) met with PATSO last night to gather feedback and  
will be meeting with Henley staff next week.  If you would like to  
provide feedback to Human Resources and County administrators the  
email address: HenleySearch at albemarle.org has been established.   
Comments will be used to develop competency-based questions to be  
used for the interviews.  This is your opportunity to let them know  
what you think is important as they search for the new Principal.

Next week, applications will be reviewed and candidates will be  
screened for minimum requirements.  Qualified individuals will be  
invited to interview during the last week of April.  A panel of HR,  
administrators, Henley parents, and Henley staff will be established  
to conduct the initial interviews.  The panel will then select which  
candidates to move forward for a second interview with the  
Superintendent and directors.  The Superintendent would like to be  
able to recommend a final candidate to the Board by the end of May.
