A new, free resource for connecting students with activities,
resources and
services in the community is now available to
families.
The Youth Development Network Hotline at
1-800-YDN-2021 can be called
between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday by youth, parents or
professionals who need help
locating resources such as after-school
activities, sports,
counseling and tutoring.
The YDN Hotline is an intake and
referral clearinghouse designed to help
youth and families locate
needed services, activities and resources. The
Hotline was developed
by the YDN, a work group of the Commission on Children
and Families,
and it is made up of representatives from the agencies and
organizations that serve children, youth and families in the
Charlottesville-Albemarle community. The goal of the YDN is to create a
collaborative youth development network that increases the capacity
of
community agencies and organizations to provide prevention and
intervention
services and activities to all youth.
The
YDN also offers an online, searchable database called the ³Guide to
Youth Services² available 24-hours a day at www.ccfinfo.org.
