1. Shannon Foundation Awards Ceremony
The Edgar and Eleanor Shannon Foundation for Excellence in Public Education:
Charlottesville/Albemarle has announced its grant award recipients for the
2004-2005 school year.
Twenty-two excellent and innovative proposals from Charlottesville and
Albemarle public school teachers have been selected for funding totaling
over $13,500 this year. Each winning grant reflects a commitment to creative
and effective teaching that will benefit local public school children for
years to come.
We are delighted this year to be able to add two grants and $1,500 to our
2003 totals, while still being careful stewards of the funds the public has
entrusted to us. We are deeply indebted to friends like you for the growth
we have been able to achieve, and look forward to being able to reach even
more teachers and students in the years to come.
We would be honored to have you join us for an awards ceremony to recognize
publicly these winning teachers outstanding achievements.
The ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, August 20th at 10 a.m. in the
auditorium of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Technical Education Center on
Rio Road.
We look forward to your attendance as we support these teachers and
celebrate the pursuit of excellence in our local public school systems.
Please R.S.V.P. by August 13th by phone, at 974-6083, or via e-mail at

Sincerely yours,
