College Planning Night for Elementary and Middle School Parents
Burley Middle School is hosting a College Planning Night on Wednesday,
November 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  Although college seems a long way off to
parents of elementary and middle school students, there are things you can
be doing now to help your child get into the college of their choice. Even
though the program is geared for parents of students in grades 4 through 8,
all interested parents are encouraged to attend.
The sessions will be lead by highly qualified individuals from the
Charlottesville business community, Albemarle County Schools, University of
Virginia, CATEC, PVCC and the Charlottesville-Albemarle School Business
Alliance (CASBA).  The program will give parents the opportunity to better
understand financial aid and the Virginia Savings Plan programs.  Parents
will also learn about the wide variety of college and career planning
services provided through the Albemarle County School system.  Finally,
parents will learn about helping their child to set goals and to learn the
skills to be a valuable worker both in school and beyond.  For more

Directions to Burley Middle School:  From either direction on the 250
Bypass, take the Rugby Ave. exit (McIntire Park).  At the intersection
(traffic light) of Rugby Ave. and Rose Hill Drive, turn left onto Rose Hill
Drive.  The school will be on your right.  Parking is available on Rose Hill
Drive and the bus loop parking lot.
