College & Career Planning Night!

Wednesday, November 30, 6:30-8:30 P.M.

Burley Middle School, on Rose Hill Drive in Charlottesville

Parents of 4th - 8th grade students (although parents of younger students are welcome, too)

Burley Middle School is hosting its 2nd annual College & Career Planning Night especially for parents of 4th - 8th grade students. Although college seems a long ways off to parents of middle and elementary school students, there are things you can be doing now to help your child make better decisions and have more options regarding their future. This evening will give parents the opportunity to better understand financial aid and the Virginia 529 Savings Plan programs. You can also learn about the wide variety of college and career planning services provided through our school system. Finally, you can learn about how to help your child set goals and learn the skills to be a valuable worker both in school and beyond. These sessions will be lead by highly qualified individuals from the Virginia Savings Plan, Albemarle County Schools, UVa, CATEC, PVCC and the Charlottesville Area School Business Alliance (CASBA). For more information, please contact Shelley Payne at 984-6862 or shp33 at alumni.virginia.edu.
