Meeting Reminder

 

The next meeting of the Parent Council is on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 @ 7:00 p.m. in room 320  of the County Office Building.  An agenda for this meeting follows below.  As you will see, the focus of the meeting will be a presentation on financial "do's and don'ts" that PTO's should be aware of.  This is an "encore performance" of a program what was very enlightening and popular last year, so be certain your school attends!  Besides their Parent Council representative, schools are encouraged to have their PTO Treasurers, fundraising chairs, etc. at the meeting.  In addition, there will be a lively exchange of ideas on fundraising (dues, contributions, special events, etc.) and financial-related activities (budgeting, insurance, audits, tax-exemption status, etc.) in which PTOs are involved.  Come prepared to share!  Also, if you can bring copies of your PTO's budget, samples of promotional flyers related to fundraising activities and any other helpful information that will contribute to the exchange of ideas (if you prefer, send an electronic copy of anything you wish to share to Christy Sinatra at  <mailto:csinatra at k12albemarle.org> csinatra at k12albemarle.org and ask Christy to make copies for the meeting.)  The September 20th meeting is certain to be chocked full of helpful knowledge for all PTO's , so don't miss it!
